This week was quite frustrating as all my drafts in Google Docs kept disappearing and I had to retype them all out, then I just got on my desktop and they were all there again. Oh well, this week is over and done with and I think we can all breathe a little sigh of relief for a minute, but not too long as we start on next week. This week was time consuming, but I learned a lot, and it was good to get everything in order as far as research goes. I haven’t done research like that since 2009 so it took a lot to remember how to do that, had to really go back in the recesses of my brain to figure it out and had to ask lots of questions. One thing I keep learning, better to ask questions than try and figure it out on your own.
I think this week we all contributed to each other’s learning as we all wrote about different research we were finding. I found it very interesting to read about everyone else’s research projects and thought how they would all be interesting to incorporate into my classroom, especially the management ones and response devices. I just wish we had the technology at my school to fully embrace these types of programs or that students were able to bring in the own devices so that we could. I’m very interested in seeing how these help manage classroom behavior and increase student engagement in the classroom. That’s always something I’m trying to improve, so it’ll be nice to be able to read research projects from others who are in Alaska and in class with me.
